Fortunately, jewelry Christmas gifts are widely available and there is an endless variety of styles from which to choose. Twinkling and shining, they reflect the nature of that season to be jolly.

Men, on the other hand, will surely appreciate flashing yet tasteful diamond cuff links. Other gemstones make wonderful jewelry Christmas gifts. Sapphires or rubies set in gold, sterling silver or platinum will gleam subtly from rings or necklaces.

Remote Control Cars - Handy Do-it-yourself Tips for RC cars
 by: Clive Chansa

If you’re not from an engineering background but pursue driving remote control cars as a hobby, it’s always a good idea to learn as much as possible about remote control cars. We all want some kind of help on how to keep unwanted particles from coming into the car. A quick and simple solution to this problem would to secure your air filter. Alternatively, you could buy du-bro body clip retainers and make sure that they remain clipped at all times and do not get loose.

Sometimes your car may not work properly. Like if you turn on your car and you find that it keeps steering to one side. This may happen even if you keep the wheels straight. A good remedy in this case would be to check if your car has a “steering trim” knob, wheel or button option. If there is none then may be adjusting steering servo armature length should do the trick.

Wedding Photography: How to Become a Successful Wedding Photographer

March 30, 2010

Once in while I receive e-mails or phone calls from aspiring or beginner wedding photographers asking me for advise on how to become successful in the wedding field. My first question is always what their motivation is to become a wedding photographer. Some will reply that they heard from somebody that it is easy money, or that they got a cool camera that takes great photos or that they would like to make some money on the side etc. While it is true that wedding photography can be a very profitable business achieving success in the wedding industry is not just a matter of getting a camera and start shooting. Wedding photography involves artistic talent, human sense, complete mastery of photographic techniques, business knowledge, and a strong desire to learn and deliver the best to the wedding couple.

Here I have summarized some points that I believe will guide beginner wedding photographers:

1. Learn photography before anything else. A wedding photographer is expected to be a master of the craft. You will be in charge of capturing people’s most precious life moments. The wedding day is not the place to learn photography.

How To Make A Ton Of Cash Online By Sharing Your Hobby With Other People
 by: Jacob Surkis

Tons of books, courses and coaching programs are offered today online on the concept of how to make money online. The problem is that you can read for ages and yet not have an idea of how to build a profitable home business.

If you’ve read any amount of e-books, bought courses, or attended teleseminars on the theme of building a successful Internet business, you must have noticed that there’s a hole that almost nobody seems to fill. There’s one point that even the “big guys” can’t tell you, or they’re simply ignorant an unwilling to disclose to you.

This point is that in order to build a really successful business online, you got to make a plan first and determine what your business will focus on. You have to choose something than you really like to do, an then find out if there’s a market, thus how many people are actively looking for products an services in that niche, and how big the competition is in that field.

Holiday Spending: How to Keep Your Personal Information Safe

March 28, 2010

Holiday spending can be a wonderful time. We shop for our loved ones, friends, co-workers, and associates. Finding just the right gift and paying by credit card. Then, Ouch! Your credit card is declined. You know you haven’t exceeded your credit limit, and the clerk can’t tell you anything. How frustrating.

Now begins the trek to uncovering the reason for the error. Calling the credit card company results in the discovery that some else has been using your credit. How could this have happened?

We often become lax when we go shopping. And holiday time is a busy time for shoppers as well as retailers and thieves are prowling for the opportunity to take your information.

In busy stores, rushed sales clerks and crowded lines we can loose track of our credit card or easily give shoulder surfers the information they want. In the midst of all the distractions we become a victim of identity theft.

Take the time this year to protect your information. Pay closer attention to transactions and watch out for thieves causing distractions.

How to Shop for Satin in 3 Easy Steps

How to Shop for Satin in 3 Easy Steps
 by: Roger Wembley

This may not be something that you usually think of when shopping for satin. But the internet can be a fantastic place to start your quest for satin fabric and satin products (such as satin sheets). We live in a highly interconnected world these days and just because your local store sells satin, it doesn’t mean they have a monopoly on the market. There are people and small businesses as far away as Thailand that have take to the web (and especially Ebay) to sell their satin goods online. Here are some tips that we’ve come up with to help you in your satin shopping strategy.

1) Use price comparisons on Ebay. I use this trick all the time. First search for ’satin’ or ’satin sheets.’ Next, run the search again but check the ’show only buy-it-now items’ box. This will bring up a much smaller list of satin items with the amount that the seller will be willing to part with the items for. This can really help in price comparisons due to the fact that these will often be fairly reduced prices compared to what you will see advertised in traditional retail shops.

Emerson and Plato

March 26, 2010

You might be surprised by the breadth and reach of the influence of Plato. Even Ralph Waldo Emerson is one of his progeny. Emerson also had a lot of Swedenborgian Rosicrucian leanings and was heavily influenced by Thomas Carlyle whose biographers have still not figured out what his secret was that made him tell them they would never get him or his life right. That secret ties Carlyle and Goethe to Swift and other literary and scientific members of the Hibernians who oversee the Priory of Sion and Royal Society. Here is what Columbia Encyclopedia on the web has to offer.

We must not forget that a large part of the effort to integrate philosophy and spirituality has been done, and sometimes people called Nazis (Carlyle) had a lot to do with fostering the humanitarian movement and what is called transcendentalism. Emerson is one of the greats along with Thoreau and Whitman - at least in their influence on my life as I grew up.

Three Poems: Liberty, Death, and a Frog [with Commentary on Liberty]

March 25, 2010

Frog Summer

Summer grows hot, for the New-blooded frogs; The bugs are thin, yet the Frogs stay fat, young and sassy. In these palsy times-they Only listen, as we wither away.

Night fritters-away in sleep. The morning brightness comes late, Among my pithy-jointed bones-; Frogs annoy me, as my clay loosens.

Rain drops for the frog. The New survivors of creation- Make their homes everywhere, As we thin ourselves out!…

A Death Overnight

Overnight she died Discreetly, quietly

As she lived, so she died.

The air is not the same, I breathe anymore?.

Nobody stops by to see Her ashes, I stored?.

Earless and eyeless All her friends remain silent.

My love for her has turned Into sadness, overnight,

Discreetly, quietly.

They Hear America No More!

It once had seemed a little thing, When I was young and but a teen That to lay my life down if need be: For honor, justice and country, That in doing so, we might hear songs

Of liberty!

But now I’m old-, no cares have I To fight alone, so I pass on by The fainted hopes that liberty buys.

African Safari Photography Best Five Destinations

March 24, 2010

Good wildlife safari photography is not only about composition and camera equipment because you first need to find your subjects before you can even lift your camera. This best five African wildlife destinations list helps you do that.

Once you have been going on wildlife photography safaris in Africa for a number of years you begin to realise and recognise that certain areas are better than others for generating good animal picture opportunities on a consistent basis.

The ranking is based on over twenty years of my safari photography experience, forums, countless trip reports and travel journals, travel magazines and prevailing wisdom in the Africa travel industry.

1. Serengeti NP - Tanzania

One of the best safari parks in Africa bar none, the Serengeti is a safari photography dream destination.

The wildlife viewing on a photographic safari here often borders on the spectacular aided by the fact that the vegetation is predominantly grassland which makes spotting animals from a distance considerably easier and provides less obstacles like bushes and trees to obscure your subjects.
