The Lull of Twilight [Over Mantaro Valley] In English and Spanish
February 28, 2010
Twilight, was now beginning. As for
the sun, it was down-down over the Mantaro Valley of Peru. The softness of the Valley’s mist, covered everything; from the Andes to the Valley?and through
(then I noticed)
?the color of charcoal blended into earth
and sky-; ebbing between this was the mystery of twilight (the parting of day, for the birth of night); where little, to nothing was said-where motion was almost dead (between man and beast); but not nature!
‘Tis a time unto itself-between calm and
caution, silent oblivion and night; even the shadows and shades surrender, mind- to-mind with their earthy hoists, for a moment?.
‘Tis the moment of sunset, when light
is thin and narrow, and shadows emerge; thus, day and night become one -with two-natures; stretched-out, glowing above and within the horizon.
The twittering of birds, the rustle of trees,
children readying for sleep-; an overall stagnation in life, comes over the valley, even the spirits stand still in abnormal silence, and gaze.

Five Fantastic Holiday Decorating Ideas
by: Jennifer Thoden
It’s that time of the year. My favorite time of the year… when we pull out our greenery, lights, ribbons and wrapping paper! It’s a family time, hopefully a happy time and a nostalgic time. And I love all of it!
Every year, I celebrate the meer act of decorating my home. And I wanted to share some of things I plan on doing this year… and hopefully spark some ideas for yourself.
1. Wreaths aren’t just for doors. I hang wreaths everywhere. On all my windows (facing in)… on any blank wall I can find… my front door… my porch posts… and small ones on my staircase. I’ve even been known to hang a few on my kitchen cabinets.
I’m talking about plain, simple green wreaths of your preferred greenery (fake or natural), and hung with a ribbon. Hang them everywhere!
2. Garland galore! Hang garland anywhere you can. Across table tops, around candles, on top of your mantel and also under your mantel… along the tops of your kitchen cabinets… swagged on your curtain rods… and of course wrapped around your banisters!

Are you bored with the routine of city life? Do you yearn for a getaway from the hustle and bustle and put some excitement into your life? Do you hope to visit the places that have been aired over National Geographic Explorer and experience it for yourself? If your answer is yes to these questions, then adventure travel is just the thing for you!
Defining an Adventure Holiday
Ok, so you’ve decided that you want an adventure holiday. This leads you to the next question ? what type of adventure holiday do you want? There is just so much variety and different perceptions of the word "Adventure" that people have come up with all sorts of activities to define this word. For example, there’s the nerve-wrenching bungee jumping sport with locations available to do this all over the world. If you are into water adventures, then white-water rafting may just be right for you. For mountain climbers, they can scale any mountain in the world, each providing the mountain climber distinctive challenges and excitement.
Dance Can Be a Profession!

Dance Can Be a Profession!
by: Muska Assad
I did not know that dance can be used for fun, worship, exercise, or for a profession at the same time. I thought that dance simply involved moving the body in a way that flows with the rhythms of music and used solely for fun or entertainment. Because the country I have come from, dance is being considered just as a fun thing not a as a profession.
My perspective of dance changed after watching the dance performances during my freshman orientation at college. The performers really caught my attention, amazing me with their different methods of dancing, notably by the way they performed the movements, the face expressions they had while dancing, and the dancing skill itself. They were expressing each situation with certain acting positions and by moving each part of the body in certain skillful ways.
I was interested in the part of the performance where the dancers wore beautiful short white skirts with special flat shoes. I did not know which type of dance it was, so I became quite eager to learn more. I began by researching various aspects of dance, including the history of dance, types of dance, and the importance of dance.
Digital Cameras Demystified

Demystifying Digital Camera Jargon
Want to buy a digital camera but confused by the sales jargon? Talk of pixels, LCDs and ELVs, digital zoom verses optical zoom driving you crazy? Then stress no more, here are all the basic terms and their meanings in simple, easily understood terms.
Mega pixels:
Pixels are just the tiny dots that make up a digital picture. Each mega pixel is a million pixels so the more mega pixels a camera has the more dots will make up your picture. The more mega pixels or dots your picture has, the better quality it will be. Digital cameras can be bought with one to six mega pixels. The higher mega pixel your camera is the larger size photo you can take and the more you can enlarge and print photos without sacrificing picture quality.
LCD
LCD means Liquid Crystal Display or in simple terms, it is the display screen used in digital cameras. These screens vary in size depending on the camera. It allows you to preview what you are photographing by giving you a ‘through-the-lens-view’. It can also be used to preview photos, delete unwanted photos and some will allow you to magnify your photos to look at details.

Verse #1 Through the back window of a 59 wagon I watched my best friend Jannie slippin away I kept on waving, til I couldn’t see her And through my tears I asked again Why we couldn’t stay
Chorus Mamma whispered softly, time will ease your pain Life’s about changing nothing stays the same And she said, how can I help you say goodbye? It’s ok to hurt and it’s ok to cry Come let me hold you and I will try How can I help you say goodbye?
Verse #2 I sit on our bed, he packed his suitcase I held a picture of our wedding day His hands were trembling, we both were crying He kissed me gently and he quickly walked away
Chorus I called up mamma she said time will ease your pain Life’s about changing nothing stays the same She said, how can I help you say goodbye? It’s ok to hurt its ok to cry Come let me hold you and I will try How can I help you say good-bye?

To start this chapter we have a response from the journalist Hippie and friend who uses the name Eternum1 on the web. He was a part of the founding of web logs as these journalists went to the hot spots of the world and kept in touch with each other. I think he sees where I am going with this book.
Dear Robert:
I agree with Sartre in that each being has complete freedom if he will only believe it and I agree with Camus on how the absurd man becomes a rebel. Sartre had de Beauvoir to keep him honest in his musings because most left wing sympathizers had yet to recognize women as the barometer of society’s evolution. As a result Sartre was more of an anarchist in his existential writings while Camus remained a sympathizer to Marxist rebellion, he didn’t quite link Engels statement “judge a society by the position of its women” to the rebellion of his time.

2) The Old Moon
The winds, the winds-moments pass Pass into years, years and more years And the moon continues to make light Upon me, with eerie fearless nights?
Under its passing shadows at twilight She stands alone, looking into my eyes; At dusk, we linger on, down the path Like live sphinxes?she follows me:
Looking, looking down, down at me?.

Creating Spectacular Scrapbooks With Memorabilia
by: Vera Raposo
Memorabilia comes in many forms and including it in your scrapbooks is
a great way to make memories come to life. People make scrapbooks for
many reasons.
Gifts for loved ones, special occasions, children’s
photos and artwork, and special times in our lives are just a few of the
possible themes for a scrapbook. The use of various memorabilia can turn
your scrapbook into a personal, spectacular way to remember the events
that are important to our lives.
Scrapbooks that center around our children’s lives and experiences are
among the most popular themes. Memorabilia from the lives of your
children can include school photos, mementos from field trips, birthday
card invitations, and various artworks they have created through the
years.
You might want to include photos and emblems of a favorite sport or
team, team rosters from sports in which your child participated,
programs from band or choral performances, or items collected during a
vacation or trip to summer camp.
