The Last King of Mars [A Poetic Mytho]
April 30, 2008
[As Told by the Last] King: it was in the year 23,700 BC that one of the two moons of earth was hit by a meteor that of which, a great part of the moon broke off and hit earth’s surface with a devastating impact. Thus the solar system absorbed a cataclysm in unimaginable proportions, from Jupiter to Mars; knocking Earth out of its 100,000-year Ice Age. This destroyed three civilizations, two on Earth, and ours on Mars. That is when I left my home, on the giant rim of Olympus Mons, fifteen-miles high, over a thousand miles wide. Atlantis was originally on Mars you know; replanted on earth, from our residue and remnants. It happened like this?
[Advance] ?as the Earth absorbed its momentary catastrophe, we absorbed our doom: the echo of the earth shocked the solar system and set the Martian crust in motion, thus rocking Mars off its axis, snuffing out the planet’s magnetic field, slowing down its spin-[this is where the poem begins]:
1 The Face of Mars
The Face of Mars Now, sculptured By haunting winds- Ancient voices And forgotten dreams? Once belonged to the Last King?!
The Magic Of Gift Giving At Christmas
April 29, 2008
Regardless of age, almost everyone can remember at least a few magic moments of their past at Christmas time. Even in our fifties and sixties, we can still very precisely recall how our parents celebrated Christmas. Those moments will never be forgotten because to all of us, Christmas is a very special time for our immediate families to be together. It is also human nature for us to pass along our family traditions to the next generation. It is without question, the most popular time of the year to show our appreciation for one another.
It is also a time to celebrate with our extended families - our relatives and close friends. It is also the perfect time to recognize the people and customers we work with, to show our appreciation for their support. We also must remember that our associates at work also have the same appreciation for Christmas, making it the ideal opportunity to show them we are thankful for their efforts.
Our customers are often the lifeline of existence. They are precisely the reason for your company’s health and its ability to prosper. Christmas is a great time to show your thanks with a simple corporate gift. The more personal the better, because your close working relationship with that individual is why your companies continue to prosper together.

Passionate Organizing: How To Create A System To Organise Your Digital And Traditional Photos
April 27, 2008
Digital photography promises much. Store your photographs on your computer, print them when you want, email them to friends and family ? share them to your heart’s content. Couldn’t be easier, could it? So how come that for most of us storing and sharing our photographs is a bit of a nightmare?
The ease of using a digital camera is its very undoing. It’s easy to take some shots and then ‘work on them later’. The trouble is that ‘later’ doesn’t happen often enough and we build up a huge backlog of images that we have to sort and process. That’s where things start to get untidy. Very soon you won’t know what you’ve printed or you won’t be able to find the original file of that cute shot that your wife wants a copy of.
So what’s the answer? As the Greek philosopher Hesiod put it nearly 3,000 years ago, "It is best to do things systematically and disorder is our worst enemy." You need to plan a system for processing your photographs and be systematic in everything you do
Tools and Tips for Keeping the Holidays Organized
April 26, 2008
It’s November 1st. You’ve walked into your favorite store to buy half-priced Halloween candy and what do you see? Christmas decorations! “Oh, no!” you think to yourself. “That can only mean one thing…”
The HOLIDAYS are coming!
Don’t stress-you’re going to start early and be more organized this year…Here are some tools and tips for staying on top of the busy and sometimes stressful holiday season.
TOOL #1: Lists
Why keep lists? Whether they are written on paper or typed onto your computer, a list allows you to do a sort of ‘brain dump’ of everything you need to recall at a moment’s notice. There are so many different things to remember when it comes to holiday time: Your husband’s shirt size, the spices you need for this year’s stuffing, what store has gift wrap on sale, etc. Unless you have an incredible memory, keeping lists will help get you through some of the stress of the holiday season.
Some examples of list topics you may need during the holidays are:
- food shopping list
- lists of dishes to prepare when entertaining
- gift list
- invitation lists
TOOL #2: Calendar
A Few Tips About Comic Book Bags
April 25, 2008
We store comics to keep them valuable. Air pollution, ultra violet light, dirt and oil from fingers as well as rough handling all contribute to the deterioration of a comic. Storing a comic book properly is essential to keeping it valuable. There are 3 major storage components to proper comic storage. They are comic bags, comic backing boards, comic boxes.
In this ariticle we will talk a little about comic book bags.
Putting your comic in a properly sized comic book bag not only keeps dust, dirt and finger oils off the comic book surface, but helps prevent scuffing which can bring down the value of a comic book considerably. The three most popular comic bag materials are polyethylene, polypropylene and Mylar. New Comic Bags, Regular Comic Bags, Dell & Silver Age Comic Bags and Golden Age Comic Bags as well as Treasury Comic Bags all are available in all three of these materials.
All three materials are considered to be ARCHIVAL - Meaning that there is nothing in the composition of the material that can contribute to the breakdown or destruction of the comic book being stored in it.
A World That Doesnt Care
April 24, 2008
War bombs may explode demolishing man and land. Hurricanes may devastate and leave us entirely bare. Earthquakes may devour and swallow up old landmarks. But nothing is as destructive as a world that doesn’t care.
Smog may be an atrocious bother in our daily living. We all suffer significantly from pollution in the air. Intoxicants may be debilitating to those who will imbibe. But nothing is as troublesome as a world that doesn’t care.
Embezzlers may run off with money not their own. A spouse may engage in an extra-marital affair. Some folks may be malicious, evil, mean and rude. But nothing is as tragic as a world that doesn’t care.
The rich may all get richer as the poor languish behind. The aged may find their last days are lived in solitaire. The young may be lost in a confusing world maze. But nothing is as dreadful as a world that doesn’t care.
Diabetes may be incurable and challenge the appetite. Cancer may be ubiquitous, creating turmoil and despair. Kidneys may suddenly fail and require dialysis. But nothing is as fatal as a world that doesn’t care.
Getting Great Pictures of the Kids this Halloween
April 24, 2008
There she was in all her glory. Long white lab coat, frizzy hair, safety goggles — and a face smeared with the black ash of an experiment gone terrifically wrong. She was, at least on this Halloween night, Dr. Abby Normal. But for most of her life I had known her as Abigail, my daughter, and I had just taken some of the most legendary photos of her life.
These weren’t your garden-variety portraits. Not exactly Wal Mart studio stuff either. They were pictures taken of my kids in their natural element — being kids. That is the real photo opportunity of a holiday like Halloween.
For treasured images this Halloween, here are some quick tips to remember to get once-in-a-lifetime photos:
1. Stop Posing — Halloween is not a formal affair. So don’t bother with the wedding style shots. Engage the kids in the play associated with their costumes — and THEN shoot the pictures. Candids reveal the smiles much more than a “Hold still, honey!” moment.
Learn Exactly How To Repair Your Sewing Machine At Home!
April 23, 2008
My name is Tony Asef and I start my own sewing machine business 21 years ago with little knowledge of repairing sewing machine at that time. I remember very good when I was looking for someone to teach me all trick in sewing machine repair business. But unfortunately no books were around! After 21 years in this business I decide to write all my knowledge and trick in this step-by-step book to teach other people how to do their sewing machine repair at home for themselves or as a business.
As we know Sewing-machine repair is one of the fastest growing businesses in the world today. Newspapers, women’s magazines, dry-goods stores, high schools and colleges are going all out to encourage the millions of American women to do their own sewing, not only to make their own clothes, but also slacks, suits, shirts, sweaters, etc. for their husbands, sons, or boyfriends. Statistics also show that the number of women who now make their family wardrobe has grown tremendously. Now is the time when a sewing machine specialist can write his or her own ticket. Never before have the money-making opportunities been so great in this field, if you know what you’re doing. This is also one very prestigious occupation. The latest figures show that over 89 million American women, because of high costs of ready-to-wear garments and undesirable workmanship of store-bought clothes, are now making almost all of the clothes for their families.
