Whether you know him by Eros or Cupid, this son of the Goddess Venus aka Aphrodite, has long been associated with Valentines Day. Cupid the cheeky cherub loves to play and delights in aiming his pointed arrows at unsuspecting victims. When his arrow pierces your heart- you will fall madly and deeply in love.

If it can happen to me, it can happen to you and here’s how.
If you are bathed in blue instead of red today, then chances are you are alone. Am I right? Now,I am sorry to hear that but it is a temporary situation only and one that can be rectified quite quickly. Do you want to know how? Okay then work with me here.

Wondering
February 28, 2008
How I wonder what he’s doing as I sit alone at night. How I wonder who he’s seeing How I wonder if I’m right. How I wonder if he’s ever thought of coming home again, and I wonder if he doesn’t can my heart mend yet again.
Lord, I know that You have told me one for love - that one for life, but that one he doesn’t want me doesn’t care about his wife, and You know how that part hurts me how it cuts me like a knife how I long to just be with him with the one who has my life.
Lord, I want to stop this crying, Lord, I want to stop the pain, Lord I want to stop the sighing, Lord, I want to love again.
But the pain goes on forever, stopping only for a while and I try my best to hide it, behind a friendly smile. But You and I know better how the tears still fall like rain, only You and I know how much my heart breaks from all the pain. Only You know how much torture my body and my soul can stand, and You’ve promised for all trials that I can take Your hand.
The Venice Rookery
February 27, 2008
Love is in the air at the Venice Rookery. The birds (and the bees) are there doing the thing they are so famous for, and you can take pictures of it! Seriously, though, the Venice Rookery is an ideal spot to photograph birds mating, building their nests, fighting for territory and feeding their chicks. It’s a requisite for bird photographers, and sheer delight for the rest of us.
A rookery is a breeding ground for certain birds and animals. At the Venice Rookery, you’ll see snowy egret, great egret, anhinga, great blue heron, tricolor heron, night heron, and the like. Active during the months from November to April, the birds are most photogenic showing their breeding colors in February and March.
HOW TO GET THERE
The Venice Rookery is located in a Sarasota County park within the city of Venice, Florida, about half way between Tampa and Fort Myers on Florida’s west coast. It is monitored by the Venice chapter of the Audubon Society. To get to the Rookery, take I-75 to Jacaranda Boulevard (Exit 193). Go right (north) on US Highway 41 until you see the State Highway Patrol Office located at 4000 S. Tamiami Trail. Turn left just past the Office, as if you were going there, but instead follow the road all of the way back until you reach the park in about a mile. Parking is to your left. It is free, plentiful and convenient to the Rookery on your right. There is no entrance fee.

Why You Need A Display Case
Some people are under the impression you need to own a retail shop to have a display case. While commercial display cases (like commercial pet display cases) are popular, many people often have one in their home. Why? Most of us have valuables stashed away somewhere in our homes.
These may include coin collections, doll collections, antiques, rifles, knives, military paraphernalia and more. Unfortunately many of us also have a habit of piling these items in trunks, storage or boxes in the basement. Now, that isn’t a very nice way to show off your collectibles is it? In fact, it is the perfect way to help them collect dust.
Collectibles and Cases
There are many reasons to have a display case in your home. The most important reason is to show off your collectibles. In fact, the most common reason people own display cases in there home is to show off valuables and other collectibles. Fortunately there are hundreds of display cases you can choose from to display your favorite memorabilia.
Valentine?s Day Ideas for Singles
February 25, 2008
Maybe your significant other is overseas in the military. Maybe you have suffered a recent divorce. Whatever the reason, you may find yourself alone this Valentine’s Day. Does this mean you should sit at home feeling sorry for yourself? I think not. Here are some ideas for people who find themselves alone this year.
1. Take yourself out.
Who says you have to have a member of the opposite sex take you out? I do not see anything wrong with getting all dressed up to go out with the person you should have the most fun with, you. So go put on your best dress or suit and have a night on the town by yourself. At least you won’t spend the whole night worrying about whether or not you have salad in your teeth.
2. Go out with your other single friends.
I’m sure that you have some other friends that are in the same predicament you are in. Why not call up one of your friends that you haven’t seen in a while and go out with him or her. I am sure that your friend will appreciate you thinking about him or her.
Bookmarks As Unique As You
February 24, 2008
Racks and racks of bookmarks ranging from funny to inspirational are available in most bookstores. But for a truly unique bookmark, make your own from a treasured digital photo.
This idea came from my wife, who wanted to give something meaningful to the ladies in her group she met with regularly. She and her friends love reading books, so the bookmark idea sprung in her mind. After a few minutes of searching our digital photo database, we found the perfect image from a rare Valentine’s Day snowfall in Dallas.
Tools you will need
If you have a digital camera then you are half way there to having all the tools you need to create your very own bookmarks. The other half is a digital photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0.
The Arizona Desert Museum
February 24, 2008
The vast beauty and richness of the desert can be easily seen in one place in Tucson, Arizona. Known as the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum ["Desert Museum"], this gorgeous and convenient site is host to a cornucopia of plants, birds and animals native to the desert. Home to more than 300 animal species and 1200 plants in natural settings, it is a photographer’s paradise.
Located in the Tucson Mountain Park just a few miles outside of Tucson, the Desert Museum was founded in 1952. The private, nonprofit organization, dedicated to the conservation of the Sonoran Desert, offers a zoological park, a botanical garden, an art gallery and a geology museum. The Desert Museum is a 15 minute drive from the heart of Tucson and is open every day of the year. Hours are from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. from October through February, and 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. from March through September. The entrance fee is $9 for adults.
While this is in fact a "museum," don’t be confused by the name. The facility is out in the open and feels more like a zoo or a park. It includes almost two miles of paved and dirt paths through 21 acres of desert.
Top Ten Tips To A Terrific Valentine?s Day - For Women in Relationships
February 23, 2008
So Valentine’s Day is upon us yet again, and most of us want to be wooed and romanced by the one that we love. Hopefully that will be the case, but either way, here are some suggestions for how you can do your part to make this day a special day for you and your guy:
1. Send a nice note or treat with him to work - put it where it won’t be found until later, if you can. Write something sweet or sexy or both - whatever he prefers (sexy is usually a safe bet!), and let him know that you appreciate all that he does for you.
2. Schedule time to prepare to see him at the end of the day - prepare as though it was your first date. You know what that means: shave the TOP of your legs, make sure your toenails are pretty, remove any unwanted hair, etc.
3. Break out the lacy lingerie. He has seen enough of your comfy-wear. Give him a treat. Men are very visual and this will be greatly appreciated, if only for the brief time you might be wearing it.
Bartering: A Modern Day Phenomenon
February 22, 2008
Back in the early days of America, families didn’t have much in the form of money. What they did have was skill, creativity, and a desire to help each other out. Most of us know of the "doctor" who is paid for his services with chickens, apples, or bread.
Bartering has deep roots in all of society. If you needed something and didn’t have the know- how or money to do it, you could always find someone who wanted something you had or could do and thus "barter" for it.
Ahhh, the good ole’ days when life was simple and trust was a family value. Did you know that in 2005 there are secret moms, dads, grandparents, and even children trading ‘aka’ bartering FAIRLY in the U.S.A.? Did you know that it even occurs on the World Wide Web?
The following tips might help you weed through the online bartering system:
1. Find a site or group that allows bartering
a. Do a google search for trade/barter/swap groups
2. Become a member
3. Make contacts and relationships with members thus getting to know whom you are doing business with.
